What Is Moss Roof Treatment

MRT is a proven & tested product that kills moss, mould & lichen on all surfaces. The product is applied to the surface, it soaks into the moss and in 2-3 weeks the moss turns brown. This means the moss and spores are dead.

The moss will weaken from the surface and overtime with the assistance of wind, rain & sun, will break down and wash away overtime. We generally allow 12-18 months for this process and this can vary depending on thickness and density of the moss.

Reaction Times

Once product has been applied the green moss turns to a yellow/brown colour within 2-3 weeks. This means the moss and spores are dead and will not continue to grow.

Black mould begins to fade by 3-5 months. The black stains are common on colorbond roofs, terracotta tiles and cement tiles. Colorbond tend to clean up quicker than the tiled roofs, due to the smoother surface.

Moss will slowly fall off roof overtime - 6 months small differences can be seen - 12 months and onwards significant difference should be seen. Some sides will clean up quicker than others to due weather conditions hitting those sides more than others. Generally North facing sides clean quicker.

Badly contaminated surfaces allow up to 12-18+ months for noticeable changes.Terracotta tiled roofs that are badly contaminated can stretch pass 18 months due to the viscosity.

Note: Each surface has a different reaction time due to how badly affected the surface is. This is a slow release product that continues to break down the moss months after application. Some roofs can have 20+ years build of moss can take that little bit more time to clean, but rest assure the results will be very pleasing and worth the wait.

Cement tiles should be looking clean, some small areas may remain that just needs that little more time.	Surface should be looking great. 18 Months - 3 Years		Guarantee that No New Green Regrowth will occur within 3 years after applying moss treatment. If any Green growth occurs within this time to the previously treated areas, we will come back and spot spray the green growth areas FREE OF CHARGE.
