Steep Pitched Roofs
Double Storey & Steep Pitch Roof Moss Removal
Moss Roof Treatment is fantastic for steep pitch roofs, as pressure cleaning them can be a challenge and generally costs more. Our medium pressure spray unit can reach up to 10 metres making these steep roofs much more suitable for the moss roof treatment. An ideal method of moss removal that won’t result in costly roof repairs that can occur with high pressure cleaning or ineffective cleaning agents.
See below some of the steep pitched roofs that our treatment has been applied too.
Steep Terracotta Roof - Ballarat North
Date Completed: 28/01/2020
Roof Type: Terracotta
This steep terracotta tile roof was completed in late January and was heavily contaminated with moss and lichen growth. A moss treatment was applied to the roof to kill the moss and lichen spores to prevent further spread. It then began to break down and wash away overtime. This took roughly 12 months for the dead moss and lichen to wash off the roof, leaving a clean nice looking roof surface. Steep roofs should not be pressure cleaned as it is dangerous, causes damage to the tile and can run the risk of getting water entering the roof cavity, staining ceilings.
Ballarat Steep Colorbond House
Date Completed: 01/04/2021
Roof Type: Iron/Colorbond
This colorbond roof started to lichen growth and the owner did not want the roof to get any worse, due to it being a rather new roof. We applied our moss roof treatment product to the surface to kill the lichen spores which will die, break down and wash away overtime with the assistance of rain, wind and gravity. This roof is too steep to pressure clean, and did not have full access for a knuckle boom to be used. Using a moss treatment we are able to reach difficult areas of roofs without putting tradesmen at risk.
